Lava’s Rhythm

"Lava’s Rhythm" is a bold exploration of movement and energy rendered through a vibrant acrylic pour technique. Within its 36 by 24-inch frame, vivid reds, yellows, blues, and blacks swirl and merge, creating fluid patterns that suggest the raw power of molten lava in motion.

This painting was born from my experience visiting Pompeii, where imagining the aftermath of a volcanic eruption sparked the vision for this work. I wanted to translate that powerful moment—the way lava might cascade and twist, full of both beauty and danger—into an abstract form. The layering and fluid motion inherent in the acrylic pour technique allowed me to embrace the spontaneity of color mingling, reflecting the eruption’s chaotic rhythm without losing control over the composition.

With this work, I wanted to create more than just a visual impression. It’s an invitation to feel the raw power and continuous transformation found in volcanic landscapes—the fiery pulse that shapes and reshapes the earth beneath our feet.
