Crossing Signals explores the tension between structure and spontaneity. Strong vertical and horizontal lines cross the canvas while bold areas of blue and black move through and around them, creating the feeling of signals intersecting, connecting, and changing direction.

The four corners were created with modeling paste, adding physical texture and dimension to the otherwise clean, linear composition. I like the contrast between those tactile surfaces, the precise lines, and the freer brushwork—each element seems to speak a different visual language while still belonging to the whole.

As I worked, the painting became less about maintaining order and more about what happens when different forms of movement meet. Some lines continue uninterrupted while others disappear beneath layers of paint or cross unexpectedly into another space.

For me, Crossing Signals captures those moments when different directions, thoughts, or energies briefly intersect. What happens at that crossing—and what it means—is left for the viewer to discover.
