Golden Intersections

Golden Intersections began with experimentation. I wanted to see what metallic gold would bring to my work—how it would interact with color, catch the light, and change the feeling of the composition. It was also the beginning of my interest in incorporating more metallic elements, including gold leaf, into future paintings.

Blocks of blue, black, white, and gray create a strong geometric foundation, while the gold moves through and between them. Rather than becoming the focus of the painting, the metallic accents connect different areas of the composition, adding warmth and luminosity against the cooler blues and stronger blacks.

As I worked, I became interested in the balance between the structured shapes and the less predictable way the colors and edges interacted. The painting developed through those intersections—between dark and light, cool color and warm metallics, structure and spontaneity.

For me, Golden Intersections represents both a finished painting and a point of discovery in my process. Experimenting with gold opened another direction for my work and another way to use light, texture, and materials as part of the composition.
